Utah Country Music Star, Michele Crisp Has Core Country Values & New Album Out On Platinum Plus Universal Records

resident of Monroe, Utah has a breakout career in country music going for her.
The petite blonde with the big voice who is produced by Legends Hall Of Fame member, Robert Metzgar in Nashville, Tennessee has completed an album for Platinum Plus Universal in Nashville.
2006 is looking to be a banner year for Michele, as the label plans to release her album, video and latest single record entitled Lighthouse, which was written by the artist and published by country musics Number one publisher, Sony/ATV Tunes LLC.
Michele Crisp is the exact type of artist that appeals to the country demographic, Metzgar said.
She embodies all the core values of country music today.

EHN caught up with her on music row for this interview:Q: Michele what do you think is the most important thing about the recording experience?
A:
Recording in Nashville today is still financially reasonable.
If you read the New York Times, Jessica Simpson, Kelly Clarkson, Beyonce, Mario, Lil' Kim and other pop stars are charged about a million dollars ($100,000 a song) in production fees today.
It takes a very long time for the artist to pay the label back all that money.
In Nashville, you can still record a great album for around $150,000 and get your career off the ground if you have label support and the right producer.

The songs I write are not just words and a melody.
They are a part of me.
As a performing artist, the most important part of the recording process is leaving a piece of who I am in every song.
My hope is that when people hear my music, they will know what I was feeling when I wrote that piece of music.Q: What are some of the artists that you personally listened to as a young person growing up?A:
As a child I got started listening to Paula Abdul, Debbie Gibson and New Kids On The Block.
I saw Randy Travis at the Grammy Awards and was really introduced to country music when I moved to Utah at the age of ten years old.
Once I started listening to Trisha Yearwood, Dolly Parton, Garth Brooks, Martina McBride, Faith Hill, the Judds, Reba, Alan Jackson, and George Strait, I was just hooked on country music.
I fell in love with the song, Thats What I Like About You,
That song is written by BMI writers Hadley, Welch and Wilson and is published by Sony/ATV Music.
I never thought I would become a BMI songwriter and wind up having Sony/ATV as my publisher.

I started performing when I was five, mostly at church and school events.
As I got older, I started performing competitively for 4-H and sang on the local and State levels.
County fairs soon followed and the Race To Cure Cancer relays, the Harvest Festival and of course last year I sang at country musics biggest party in Nashville at Fan Fair 2005 which was attended by 145,000 people over the three days. Michele has been compared to Marie Osmond, Alison Krauss, Anne Murray, LeAnn Rimes and to Trisha Yearwood on many levels.

Who do you emulate as a role model?A:
I have always looked up to LeAnn Rimes because of her dedication to singing and her youthful start in country music.
My producers greatest hero in country music is Mike Curb and I think the success of LeAnn Rimes on Curb Records is just incredible.
Each of us has to carve out our own path in life, and because we are all so unique, I want to look back on my life and be the type of role model that other younger girls and moms can be proud of. My mother was classically trained as an opera singer, so she taught me a few things but I have never had any formal voice training.
She taught me breath control and the importance of practicing every day.
Everything I know about music, my mother taught me.
She was a great role model and I owe my mom, Deborah Robertson a tremendous amount of respect.
I guess that's how I got tagged "Utah's country music mom."

Tell us about your family?A:
I graduated from South Sevier high school in 1999.
I took classes at Snow College South and got married to the love of my life in September of 2000.
I have worked in our grocery store ever since.
That has been an education in itself.
Since I started working in our store, I have learned to be an accountant, front-end manager, meat cutter, and produce person all at the same time.
Between all that, Im practicing my songs, singing and writing.
My husband Alan Crisp is 29 years old, and we have one beautiful little girl, Kaylie who is 2 years old.
My family is my rock, support group, inspiration, and comic relief all rolled into one.
They keep me going and my daughter keeps me humble.
When I got my final mixes on the album I was singing along with them.
Kaylie ran into the kitchen and when she heard the music she said, Shhh Mama! Its singing!

My goals in the music business are to develop some lasting qualities so that I will have a long term career with my writing and singing.
I admire the great careers of Patsy Cline, Kitty Wells, Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, Brenda Lee, Tammy Wynette and others who have had long term involvement with my favorite music genre and thats "real" country music. Michele's latest album project entitled, "Lighthouse" will be submitted for the 2007 Grammy awards by her record label.
She has already been nominated by the Academy Of International Recording Artists as Female Vocalist of the Year for 2006.
